Why homeowners pick us

If this is what you want, we’re your roofers.

  • An inspector on the roof with a photo report — not a drive-by estimate from the truck.
  • A roofer who meets your insurance adjuster on the roof, so nothing legitimate gets missed.
  • Torn off and dried-in the same day, and a yard magnet-swept for nails every evening.
  • Two warranties in writing — the manufacturer’s on the shingles, ours on the workmanship.

Storm damage & insurance claims

Hail or wind hit your roof? We handle the claim with you — not for you, with you.

Insurance-claim roofing is where homeowners get lost — or taken advantage of. Here’s the part people don’t know: you legally choose your own contractor, not whoever the insurer suggests. We climb up, document every hit with dated photos, sit down at your kitchen table to walk you through it, and we’re on the roof with your adjuster when they inspect. You pay your deductible; we handle the rest of the paperwork and the repair.

We’re not lawyers or public adjusters, and we’ll never tell you to file a claim you don’t have. If the damage doesn’t warrant it, we’ll tell you that too — in writing.

Free damage inspection

We get on the roof (safely) and document hail bruising, wind-lifted shingles, and any leaks — with dated, labeled photos you keep, whether you file or not.

We meet your adjuster with you

When the insurance adjuster comes out, our estimator is on the roof with them — pointing out the damage so nothing legitimate gets missed or lowballed.

You approve the scope

We translate the insurance estimate into plain English, tell you exactly what’s covered, and you approve the plan before any work starts. No surprises.

We do the roof, you pay your deductible

Once the claim’s approved, we schedule the replacement, handle the supplement paperwork if the scope changes, and you pay only your deductible.

Our trucks, our crew

A local fleet you’ll recognize in the driveway.

After a hailstorm, the metro fills with out-of-state trucks that vanish before the warranty matters. When a Ironclad Roofing truck pulls up, you get the same certified crew we send everywhere, a site that’s magnet-swept every evening, and a company that’s still here in Kansas City next spring — same trucks, same faces.

Cole Ferris

Owner & Lead Estimator

GAF-certified installer · HAAG-informed damage assessment · 18 years in roofing

Cole started Ironclad after 18 years running crews and estimating storm claims for larger outfits, tired of watching homeowners get either lowballed by insurers or oversold by storm-chasers. He’s the one on the roof with your adjuster, and he trains every estimator to document honestly and tell homeowners the truth — even when the truth is “you don’t need a new roof yet.” Kansas City born, and the first truck out after a hailstorm.

Renee Salas

Production Manager & Claims Liaison

Insurance-claim specialist · Xactimate-fluent · 11 years

Renee runs the schedule, the crews, and the paperwork — which means when your claim hits a snag or the adjuster’s scope comes up short, she’s the one who writes the supplement and gets it corrected. Fluent in the estimating software insurers use, she translates the claim into plain English so you know exactly what’s covered before a shingle comes off.

A word from the owner

Meet Cole Ferris — Owner & Lead Estimator

I spent 18 years estimating storm claims for bigger outfits and got tired of watching homeowners get lowballed by insurers or oversold by storm-chasers. So here’s how we run it: I’m on the roof with your adjuster, you keep every photo we take, and if your roof has years left in it, I’ll tell you that too.

When you call Ironclad Roofing, you reach a local, family-run team — not a call center. Watch a quick hello, then book with someone you've already met.

What homeowners say

4.9 from 412+ Google reviews
“After the May hail, another company told me there was no damage and one of the door-knockers wanted me to sign before an adjuster even looked. Ironclad got on the roof with my adjuster, showed the hail bruising, and the claim was approved. I paid my deductible and got a whole new roof.”
MDMarcus DelgadoHomeowner · Overland Park, KS
“A limb came through the roof at 2am and water was pouring in. They had a tarp on by breakfast, calmed me down, and handled the entire insurance side. When it was done you couldn’t tell anything had ever happened up there.”
JOJanet OkaforHomeowner · Blue Springs, MO
“What sold me was that they told me I did NOT need a full replacement — just a ridge repair after a windstorm. Every other quote was for a whole roof. Honest people are rare in this trade. When I do need the full roof, they’re the only call I’ll make.”

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask us

Is the inspection really free? What do I get?

Yes — genuinely free, no strings. A certified inspector gets on the roof (not a drive-by from the truck), documents everything with photos, and gives you a written report: what’s fine, what’s aging, and what actually needs attention now. If the roof is in good shape, we tell you that and leave. About a third of our inspections end with "you’ve got years left" — that honesty is why the other two-thirds hire us.

Hail just came through. How does the insurance claim actually work?

Don’t sign anything the first company at your door puts in front of you. Call us for the free inspection first — we document the damage with dated photos, help you understand whether it’s worth a claim, and when it is, we meet your insurance adjuster on the roof so nothing gets missed. You pay your deductible; insurance covers covered damage. Any roofer offering to "eat your deductible" is committing fraud with your name on it — walk away.

How much does a new roof cost? Can I finance it?

It depends on size, pitch, layers to tear off, and material — which is why we only quote after we’ve been on the roof, in writing, with the exact shingle line named. Most asphalt replacements in the metro land in the $10k–$25k range; metal runs more. Qualified homeowners finance from around $159/mo with $0 down — apply in minutes, and insurance-covered replacements usually just need the deductible.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most houses: one to two days. We show up early, tear off and dry-in the same day so your house is never exposed overnight, magnet-sweep the yard for nails every evening, and haul every scrap away. Gutters and vents get protected, landscaping gets tarped, and the crew chief walks the finished roof with you before we call it done.

What warranties do I actually get?

Two separate ones, in writing: the manufacturer’s warranty on the shingles themselves (decades on the major architectural lines), and our own workmanship warranty on the installation — because a great shingle installed badly fails early, and that part is on us. If a ridge cap lifts or a flashing seeps, we come fix it. Registered, transferable if you sell, and explained in plain English before you sign.

A storm is hitting tonight and my roof is leaking — what do I do?

Call (555) 555-5555 now — we run 24/7 storm response. We’ll walk you through catching the water and pulling anything valuable clear, then get a crew out to emergency-tarp the roof so the damage stops growing while the weather passes. Tarping is fast, documented for your insurance claim, and it buys time to do the permanent repair right instead of in a panic.
